Abstract:

In embodiments, a session management device may comprise at least one transceiver and at least one processor coupled to the at least one transceiver. The at least one processor may be configured to acquire prediction information on a stay time of a user equipment (UE) for each service area of each user plane function (UPF) on the basis of moving information of the UE. The at least one processor may be configured to identify a packet data unit (PDU) session anchor (PSA) UPF for the UE on the basis of the prediction information. The at least one processor may be configured to identify whether a UPF corresponding to a service area in which the UE is located is the PSA UPF for the UE, on the basis of identifying an event according to moving of the UE. The at least one processor may be configured to perform a PSA change to the UPF, on the basis of identifying that the UPF is the PSA UPF for the UE.
