Abstract:
An electronic device according to various embodiments may comprise: an antenna module; a first communication module that transmits and receives a signal to and from a base station through the antenna module; and a processor electrically connected to the first communication module. The processor may: identify a reception timing of a wake up signal on the basis of wake up signal configuration information received from the base station; select one of transmission beams of the base station and one of reception beams of the electronic device as a beam pair; measure a reception strength of the selected transmission beam of the beam pair by using the selected reception beam of the beam pair in an SSB burst period before the reception timing arrives; stabilize a synchronization loop comprising at least one RF element through an SSB of the selected transmission beam of the beam pair; detect the wake up signal transmitted from the base station at the reception timing; and determine whether to perform a beam searching operation on the basis of the measured reception strength and a reception strength of the wake up signal.
