Abstract:
An electronic device and an operation method according to the present invention may assist in searching for a file similar to a reference file by: extracting, from bitstream forming data for each of a plurality of predetermined files, n features divided along points at which preset data patterns are present; and generating distribution information about frequencies at which one or more unique hash values, extracted from among n hash values corresponding to the n features so that the hash values do not overlap, are respectively present, and then calculating the similarities between the reference file and the remaining files among the plurality of files on the basis of the distribution information about the frequencies at which the one or more unique hash values are respectively present.
