Abstract:
Provided are an electronic device for performing a water discharge operation by interworking with an external terminal, and a control method thereof. The electronic device comprises: a main body; a communication interface for communicating with an external terminal; a water discharge unit that is connected to the main body and discharges water; an input unit that receives an input of a water discharge command; a memory; and at least one processor. The at least one processor: receives water discharge limit information from the terminal via the communication interface and stores the water charge limit information in the memory; determines, on the basis of the water discharge limit information, whether, when a water discharge command is input via the input unit, the water discharge command corresponds to a command limiting water discharge; performs user authentication if the water discharge command corresponds to a command limiting water discharge; and controls the water discharge unit to perform a water discharge operation in response to the water discharge command if the user authentication is successful.
