Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to facilitate satisfactorily supplying power to a connected device. Provided is an electronic device, comprising a receptacle wherein a plurality of electrical terminal sets are disposed. Each of the electrical terminal sets is formed from a first electrical terminal for power, a second electrical terminal for detection, and a third electrical terminal for grounding. On the basis of signals which are obtained from the second electrical terminals of the plurality of electrical terminal sets, the configuration of an interface cable which is connected to the receptacle is identified. According to the identified cable configuration, power is supplied to an external device via the first electrical terminals of all or part of the electrical terminal sets of the plurality of electrical terminal sets.
