Abstract:

Provided are an electronic device for providing an avatar based on a user face and an operating method thereof. The electronic device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may obtain a plurality of raw textures by matching a 3-dimensional shape related to the user face to a 2-dimensional plane, perform tone-matching of smoothing each of skin tones of the plurality of raw textures on the basis of an average of skin tones of a pre-plurality of raw textures, obtain a plurality of texture segments by splitting at least one of the tone-matched plurality of raw textures according to feature areas in a face, obtain a combined texture by combining a plurality of texture segments selected by a user input from among the obtained plurality of texture segments, and obtain an avatar indicating the user face in the 3-dimensional shape on the basis of the combined texture.
