According to one embodiment, an electronic device may comprise at least one processor. The at least one processor may be configured to transmit information associated with a first cell to a server. The at least one processor may be configured to receive, from the server, information about at least one nearby cell determined on the basis of the information associated with the first cell. The at least one processor may be configured to check information about at least one second cell stored in the electronic device. The at least one processor may be configured to perform scanning by using the information about the at least one nearby cell and the information about the at least one second cell. Other embodiments are possible.
