Abstract:

Provided is an electronic device which is capable of efficiently emitting vibrations. This electronic device comprises: a top panel which is provided with a control screen; a coordinate detection unit which detects coordinates of a control input which is carried out upon the control screen; a first vibration element which emits a vibration upon the control screen; and a drive control unit which drives the first vibration element with a drive signal which causes the emission upon the control screen of a characteristic ultrasonic vibration, and which drives the vibration element such that the intensity of the characteristic vibration changes according to the position of the control input upon the control screen and a degree of change over time of the position thereof. The top panel comprises a periodic structure in which the thickness periodically changes in the direction in which nodes and antinodes of a standing wave, which is emitted by the characteristic vibration, are aligned, according to the period of the standing wave.
