Abstract:
In this electronic key system (100), which comprises an in-vehicle apparatus (10) and a handheld device (20), said handheld device (20) is authenticated via wireless communication using a secret key that is shared by the in-vehicle apparatus (10) and the handheld device (20). The handheld device (20) is provided with a handheld-device-code transmission unit (t11) that transmits a handheld-device code to the in-vehicle apparatus (10). The in-vehicle apparatus (10) is provided with a vehicle-code transmission unit (t5, t55, t67) that transmits a vehicle code to the handheld device (20). The in-vehicle apparatus (10) is provided with a handheld-device-code reception unit (t12) that receives the aforementioned handheld-device code and a vehicle-side key generation unit (155) that generates a secret key. The handheld device (20) is provided with a vehicle-code reception unit (t6, t56, t68) that receives the aforementioned vehicle code and a handheld-device-side key generation unit (255) that generates a secret key. An in-vehicle apparatus and a handheld device used in an electronic key system (100) are provided.
