Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an electric propulsion unit capable of switching between the forward and reverse movements of an electric moving body with a simple operation and in a seamless manner. [Solution] An electric propulsion unit 1 has an electric motor 8, a battery 9, a first operation unit 30, a second operation unit 31, and a control device 10. The first operation unit receives a change operation for changing the output torque T of the electric motor. The second operation unit receives a switching operation for switching the direction of the output torque of the electric motor and is configured so as to selectively take a first state and a second state and allow the switching operation independently of the first operation unit. The control device sets the target output torque of the electric motor to a positive value while the second operation unit is in the first state and sets the target output torque of the electric motor to a negative value while the second operation unit is in the second state. When the state of the second operation unit is switched while the first operation unit is in operation, the control device performs a drive control after performing a regenerative control.
