Title:
ELECTROPHORETIC COATING
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO1999004064
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for dip coating electrically conducting elements, like, for example, screws, nuts, shims or other small parts. In this method, the elements to be coated are positioned in, on or against a support element in a coating bath having at least one anode and cathode. The method is characterized in that the anodes and cathodes or support elements can be used again after a first uptake of dipping varnish, without preliminary cleaning and without a new uptake of dipping varnish after subsequent repeated use. To this end, the anode, in the case of cathodic dip coating, and the cathode, in the case of anodic dip coating, are coated with a varnish. This varnish is baked after coating and then activated and/or coated with an electrically conducting varnish which then hardens at room temperature.
