Abstract:
The present invention pertains to an electrostatic charge development toner and a method for producing the same. The electrostatic charge development toner contains a crystalline polyester resin C and a noncrystalline polyester resin A. The crystalline polyester resin C is a polycondensate of an alcohol component containing 80 mol% or more of ethylene glycol and a carboxylic acid component containing an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid-based compound. The alcohol component and/or the carboxylic acid component contains a monofunctional monomer. The monofunctional monomer contains an aliphatic monocarboxylic acid-based compound and/or an aliphatic monoalcohol. The contained amount of the aliphatic monocarboxylic acid-based compound and/or the aliphatic monoalcohol is 2-25 mass% of the total amount of the alcohol component and the carboxylic acid component. The noncrystalline polyester resin A is a polycondensate of a carboxylic acid component and an alcohol component containing 80 mol% or more of an aliphatic diol having 2-5 carbon atoms. The electrostatic charge development toner according to the present invention is suitably used for such as the development of a latent image formed through electrophotography, electrostatic recording, electrostatic printing, etc.
