Abstract:
Provided is an electrostatic image developer which has low charge fluctuation, does not cause fogging and has excellent environmental stability even in low temperature, low humidity environments, normal temperature, normal humidity environments, and high temperature, high humidity environments. This electrostatic image developer contains an external additive and colored resin particles which include a binder resin and a colorant, and is characterized in that said external additive contains hydrophobically-treated plate-like fine alumina particles having a number average primary particle diameter of 20-120nm and an aspect ratio of 3-15, the content of said fine alimuna particles being 0.05-1 parts mass for 100 parts mass of the colored resin particles.
