Abstract:
Provided is an electrostatic sorting device that is able to improve the sorting efficiency for material fragments included in a mixture. This electrostatic sorting device comprises a transport unit (130) and an opposing electrode (180). The transport unit (130) transports a charged mixture (100), which is loaded into an electrostatic field space and is to be sorted in accordance with the charged state. The transport unit (130) includes an end section (1) in the transport direction of the mixture (100). The opposing electrode (180) opposes the end section (1). The opposing electrode (180) is capable of applying a voltage to form an electric field between the end section (1) and the opposing electrode (180). The area of a first surface portion of the opposing electrode (180) that faces the end section (1) is greater than the area of a second surface portion of the end section (1) that faces the opposing electrode (180) and functions as an electrode.
