Abstract:
This electrowetting element (1) is provided with an element main body (10), a dielectric layer (14), an electrode, a nonpolar liquid (17) and a polar liquid (16). The element main body (10) has a cell (C). The dielectric layer (14) is arranged within the cell (C). The dielectric layer (14) has a hydrophobic surface. The electrode polarizes the dielectric layer (14). The nonpolar liquid (17) is arranged on the hydrophobic surface within the cell (C). The polar liquid (16) is not miscible with the nonpolar liquid (17). The polar liquid (16) is arranged on the hydrophobic surface within the cell (C). The nonpolar liquid (17) contains a coloring substance. The polar liquid (16) contains a nonionic molecule. The nonionic molecule has a polar part and a nonpolar part.
