Abstract:
In this elevator device, a first hoisting machine has a sheave shaft and is installed in a hoistway. A second hoisting machine has a second hoisting machine body and a second driving sheave. A suspension body is wound around the second driving sheave. A vertical load that is exerted from the suspension body on the second hoisting machine is supported by the first hoisting machine at the sheave shaft. The second hoisting machine is further equipped with a steady rest. The steady rest is in contact with the first hoisting machine and prevents the second hoisting machine body from turning about the sheave shaft with respect to the first hoisting machine.
