Abstract:
The present invention relates to an elevator roping device wherein: the traveling distance of a balance weight is shortened by using, as a means for roping an elevator, an elevator rope winding roller and a balance weight rope winding roller, the diameters of which are different, and a transmission gear, so that a hoistway for the balance weight can be excluded from a hoistway for the elevator by installing the hoistway for the balance weight in a subsidiary space of a building, that is, in the rooftop or basement of a building, a machinery room above the elevator, or a space in the middle of the building, with the result that a larger area of the building is available for exclusive-use space and thus the utilization of the building can be maximized and the economic efficiency of the building can be improved; and both the balance weight and the traveling means thereof are installed in a designated place, so that the maintenance of the balance weight and the traveling means can be easily performed.
