Abstract:
An elevator system, provided with a reading device (8), a call registration unit (14), a width setting unit (12), and a controller (15). The reading device (8) is provided to the elevator landing (4). The reading device (8) reads identification information held by an information recording medium. The call registration unit (14) restricts people who can register a call to owners of information recording media from which the reading device (8) can read the identification information. The width setting unit (12) sets the elevator door opening width on the basis of the number of information recording media from which identification information has been read by the reading device (8). When the elevator car (2) stops at the landing, the controller (15) opens the door on the basis of the opening width set by the width setting unit (12).
