Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an elevator system with which it is possible to reduce the overall installation area of an elevator in a building while ensuring the number of passengers in the elevator. [Solution] The elevator system according to the present disclosure is configured such that first and second elevator cages are positioned in a single elevator hoistway, wherein pairs of cage lower pulleys provided to each of the lower sections of the first and second elevator cages are positioned such that ropes are pulled around in the plumb vertical direction at the outer-side parts of the first and second elevator cages and in the horizontal direction at the bottom parts thereof, and the arrangement direction of the cage lower pulleys on the first elevator cage intersects the arrangement direction of the cage lower pulleys on the second elevator cage when projected in a horizontal plane.
