Abstract:
Disclosed is an elevator in which it is possible to facilitate maintenance or inspection of position detection devices provided to an elevator car and to a landing. This elevator comprises a contactless position detection device (200) for detecting the position of an elevator car (4). The contactless position detection device has a moving unit (200A) provided within the elevator car at a location near a first sill (81) provided to the elevator car, and a fixing part (200B) that is provided to a second sill (91) provided to a landing and that faces the moving unit when the elevator car lands. An inspection opening for allowing inspection of the contactless position detection device is provided in a front-side plate (42) of the elevator car. The inspection opening has an opening section (a) that is provided in the front-side plate and that is adjacent to the contactless position detection device.
