Abstract:
A communication device for transmitting and receiving electronic mail via a communication network, said communication device being equipped with: a communication unit that transmits a first electronic mail, and receives a second electronic mail from a transmission destination communication terminal; a storage unit that saves the first electronic mail; and a control unit that includes a first deletion determination field in the header of the first electronic mail being transmitted, said first deletion determination field having information indicating whether the sender authorizes deletion of the first electronic mail, transmits the first electronic mail via the communication unit, and saves the first electronic mail in the storage unit. When the second electronic mail is received via the communication unit and the header of the second electronic mail includes a second deletion determination field and a deletion email subject field having information for identifying the first electronic mail, and the second deletion determination field has information authorizing deletion of the first electronic mail, the control unit deletes the saved first electronic mail on the basis of the information in the deletion email subject field.
