Abstract:
A terminal of an emergency call system is designed for installation in a vehicle, such as a car, and functions to communicate data such as the current position and license number of the vehicle to the police and an emergency center in the event of a traffic accident and sudden illness. The terminal includes a gyro sensor for producing data of the direction of travel, and a GPS receiver for producing position information. A navigation system (4) connected externally to the terminal (1) is supplied through data output means (18) with requisite data indicative of the position and condition of the vehicle from a gyro sensor (13) for producing data of the direction of travel, a GPS antenna (16) for receiving data from a satellite, and a GPS receiver (17) for generating position data from the data supplied through the GPS antenna.
