Abstract:
The present invention enables driving of different types of haptic sense presentation devices compatible with different physical quantities, and at the same time, achieves a reduction in the amount of data required for haptic sense presentation. The encoding device according to the present invention is provided with an encoding unit that generates encoded data by performing, on a plurality of haptic signals that represent mutually different physical quantities, an encoding in which the volume of information is compressed by taking advantage of mutual convertibility between the physical quantities. With this configuration, it is possible to obtain haptic signals that represent desired physical quantities in a range allowing conversion therebetween, while being able to compress information volume by taking advantage of the mutual convertibility between the physical quantities.
