Abstract:
An encoding method comprises: extracting a background image from a target frame included in a moving image (S11); extracting, from the target frame, multiple types of meta data that are associated with at least one object included in the target frame and that indicate the features of the object (S12); hierarchically arranging the multiple types of meta data on a type-by-type basis (S13); and generating code information that includes background image information to be used for determining the background image and that includes meta information indicating part or all of the meta data corresponding to a layer selected from among the multiple types of meta data (S14).
