Abstract:
This endoscope device includes: a light source unit (132) which is capable of emitting first narrowband light selected on the basis of the absorption spectrum of a first characteristic substance and second narrowband light selected on the basis of the absorption spectrum of a second characteristic substance; and an imaging system (152, 156, 132, 136) that separately obtains a first image by the first narrowband light and a second image by the second narrowband light. The endoscope device further includes a characteristic substance area extraction unit which is capable of extracting a characteristic substance area relating to the first characteristic substance in the first image as a first characteristic substance area and/or is capable of extracting a characteristic substance area relating to the second characteristic substance in the second image as a second characteristic substance area.
