Abstract:
In this endoscope device, an image compression device 5 has a compression processing control unit 51, a storage unit 52, a first compression parameter generation unit 53A, a second compression parameter generation unit 53B, and a compression parameter determination unit 53C. The first compression parameter generation unit 53A generates a first temporary compression parameter Q1 on the basis of transmittable amount of data. The second compression parameter generation unit 53B generates a second temporary compression parameter Q2 on the basis of the storage capacity of the storage unit 52. The compression parameter determination unit 53C compares Q1 and Q2, and selects, as a selection parameter Q3, a parameter that has the smaller data amount after compression. The compression processing control unit 51 updates the compression parameter into Q3 and performs compression processing using the updated compression parameter.
