Abstract:
An endoscope system according to the present invention is provided with an endoscope which acquires captured images, a drive mechanism which moves the field of view of the endoscope by moving at least a tip section of the endoscope, and a processor which controls the drive mechanism and an observation image displayed on a display device. The processor detects a prescribed region of interest within an acquired image (S2), selects a portion of the acquired image as a display range and generates an observation image from the display range, and causes the observation image to track the prescribed region of interest (S3) by executing a digital tracking process (S4) and a physical tracking process (S5) in coordination with each other. The digital tracking process (S4) is a process which causes a first focus region within the display range to track the region of interest by changing the position of the display range within the captured image, and the physical tracking process (S5) is a process which causes a second focus region within the captured image to track the prescribed region of interest by moving the field of view of the endoscope.
