Abstract:
Provided is an endoscope system (1) comprising: a long part (5) which has a longitudinal axis; an imaging unit (6) which is provided on a distal end of the long part (5); a bending part (7) which changes the tilt angle of the imaging unit (6) relative to the long part (5); a bend drive unit (8) which drives the bending part (7); a rotation drive unit (9) which rotates the long part (5) about the longitudinal axis; and a control device (10) which processes an image obtained by the imaging unit (6). The control device (10) obtains a plurality of the images from the imaging unit (6) imaged while the long part (5) is being rotated by the rotation drive unit (9), calculates the position of a fixed point in the image on the basis of the obtained plurality of images, and determines a direction toward a position at the center of the image from the calculated position of the fixed point .
