Abstract:
An endoscope-use insertion unit capable of, when part of an endoscope image to be displayed on a display unit such as a monitor is magnified and displayed, illuminating an affected part corresponding to the above part of the endoscope image with an illuminating light having a light quantity almost the same as that used at non-magnified displaying. The endoscope-use insertion unit comprises an insertion unit having a tip end surface, a first illuminating optical system disposed at the tip end surface to illuminate an object to be examined with light, a second illuminating optical system disposed at the tip end surface to illuminate the object to be examined with light, a first imaging unit having a first optical member that allows light from the object to be examined to enter and is provided at the tip end surface, and a second imaging unit being higher in observing magnification than the first observing optical system and having a second optical member that allows light from the object to be examined to enter and is provided in an area held between the first illuminating optical system and the second illuminating optical system.
