Abstract:
An endoscope 1 has: an external cylinder 51 in which an external cylinder leading end part 52 is held by a leading end holding part 31 provided to the inside of an insertion part 5 and in which an external cylinder base end part 53 is held by a base end holding part 41 provided to the base end side relative to the leading end holding part 31; and an internal cylinder 71 which is provided to the inside of the external cylinder 51, in which a wire 81 connected to a movable part 21 provided to the insertion part 5 is provided, which becomes extended by curvature of the insertion part 5 by a greater amount than the external cylinder 51, and in which, in an extension state where the internal cylinder 71 is extended by curvature, a gap G in the longitudinal direction of the external cylinder is formed between the internal cylinder 71 and at least one of: the leading end holding part 31; and the base end holding part 41.
