The objective of the present invention is to provide an endoscopic diagnosis device, an image processing method, a program and a recording medium with which it is possible for the size of a lesion or the like to be measured easily from an endoscopic image captured using a normal operation, without performing a special operation. A region detecting unit detects a region of an artifact or the like which is in contact with a subject, from an endoscopic image. A captured image size calculating unit calculates the captured image size in the endoscopic image of the region of the artifact or the like that is in contact with the subject, in units of numbers of pixels, and a pixel size calculating unit calculates the actual size corresponding to one pixel on the basis of the captured image size and information indicating the actual size of the region of the artifact or the like that is in contact with the subject, retained by a size information retaining unit. A graduated scale generating unit generates a graduated scale indicating the actual size of the subject in the endoscopic image, on the basis of the actual size corresponding to one pixel, and a control unit performs control in such a way that the endoscopic image and the graduated scale are combined and displayed on a display unit.
