Abstract:
This energy storage system comprises a plurality of battery packs each housing a cell of a secondary battery, and at least one of the plurality of battery packs is exchanged with another battery pack during prescribed maintenance work. A control circuit 100 makes it possible to: extract a candidate for a battery pack during the next maintenance work from among the plurality of battery packs on the basis of the remaining service life of each of the plurality of battery packs; change the degree of the load applied to a prescribed battery pack among the plurality of battery packs so that the number of battery packs to be exchanged during the next maintenance work is a specified number on the basis of comparison results between the number of extracted battery packs and the specified number; and adjust the remaining service life of the battery pack.
