Abstract:
According to the present invention, a cam signal read value is set in accordance with a cam signal output from a cam angle sensor at a front-rear determination position. Further, at the front-rear determination position, if the cam signal read value changes alternately between 1 (LOW) and 2 (HIGH), the cam signal read value is set as a cam signal expected value, and if the cam signal read value does not change alternately between 1 (LOW) and 2 (HIGH), the cam signal expected value in the previous control cycle is inverted and is set as the cam signal expected value. Further, if the cam signal read value and the cam signal expected value are equal, the cam signal read value is used to determine the cylinder, and if the cam signal read value and the cam signal expected value are different, the cam signal expected value is used to determine the cylinder.
