Abstract:
The present invention provides an engine cooling apparatus with which it is possible to prevent a decrease in the reliability of a cylinder head of an engine during an engine-cooling operation. This engine cooling apparatus is provided with an in-engine cooling water passage 10, a heater core cooling water passage 12, and a radiator cooling water passage 14, and a switching valve 20 is provided to switch these cooling water passages 10, 12, 14. The switching valve 20 switches from the in-engine cooling water passage 10 to the heater core cooling water passage 12 when the surrounding temperature of an exhaust valve is a high temperature at a value greater than, e.g., 150ºC, even when the temperature of the cooling water of the engine is, e.g., 50ºC or less.
