An envelope, an envelope making method, an envelope making unit, an envelope making device, and an envelope distribution system. The envelope making unit for making an envelope by folding, in order, envelope making original paper (1) which is general purpose paper of A4-size, etc. comprises a loading table (60) for loading the original paper (1) thereon, a retaining member (54) retaining the original paper (1), a second plate (36) folding the four corners of the original paper (1), third plates (40, 44) folding the opposite first sides of the principal plane (48) of the envelope, and fourth plates (42, 46) folding the other opposed sides of the principal plane of the envelope. The envelope is manufactured by the envelope making unit. The envelope making method is used by the envelope making unit. The envelope making device comprises the envelope making unit. The envelope distribution system comprises the envelope making device. Thus, the making of the envelope can be mechanized by the envelope making unit to increase productivity in making the envelope.
