Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a mixture of a naphthol cresol type epoxy resin and a paracresol novolac type epoxy resin which has a specific structure and a low melt viscosity, and a cured product of which has high heat resistance, high elastic modulus, high strength, low water absorption and excellent flame retardancy; an epoxy composition; a prepreg; a resin sheet; and a carbon fiber-reinforced composite material. An epoxy resin mixture which contains an epoxy resin represented by formula (1) and an epoxy resin represented by formula (2) at a weight ratio of from 1:5 to 1:0.2. (In formula (1), each one of a plurality of R1 moieties is independently present, and represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms; n represents a real number from 1 to 10; and G represents a substituted or unsubstituted glycidyl group.) (In formula (2), each one of a plurality of R2 moieties and a plurality of R3 moieties is independently present, and represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms; n represents a real number from 1 to 10; and G represents a substituted or unsubstituted glycidyl group.)
