Abstract:
The optical transmission/reception device is provided with: an error correction coding unit 23 for coding a transmitting string using LDPC codes of one type; and an error correction decoding unit 36 for decoding a received sequence which was coded using the LDPC codes. The error correction decoding unit 36 decodes the received signal sequence on the basis of parity-check matrices of LDPC convolutional codes. This decoding process is a windowed decoding process involving the use of a window spanning one or more small parity-check matrices. The window size of the window and the decoding iterations are configured to be changeable, and the window size and the decoding iterations are input from a control circuit connected to the error correction decoding unit.
