Abstract:
Ethylene-base copolymers comprising ethylene with an a-olefin, wherein the dyad chain distribution [EA] of ethylene (E) and the $g(a)-olefin (A) measured by ?13¿C NMR spectrometry and the ethylene content $g(a) (mol %) measured by ?13¿C NMR spectrometry satisfy the relationships represented by the following formulae (1) &verbar (2): 0.7-2.8(0.5-$g(a)/100)?2¿-&verbar 0.25(0.5-$g(a)/100)&verbar $m(F)[EA]$m(F)2$g(a)/100 wherein &verbar &verbar stands for an absolute value; and (2) 10$m(F)$g(a)$m(F)90 and the $g(a)-olefin has from 3 to 20 carbon atoms. Namely, ethylene-base copolymers having a high viscosity index and a low pour point and being useful as base oils or viscosity index-elevating agents.
