This evaporator configures part of a thermosiphon heat pipe (10) and evaporates a work fluid by allowing the work fluid to absorb heat from a battery (BP), and is provided with: a fluid evaporation unit (40) in which one or more evaporation flow paths (401) having an upstream end (401a) and a downstream end (401b) are formed and which thermoconductively connects to the battery and evaporates, with the heat of the battery, the work fluid flowing in the one or more evaporation flow paths; a liquid supply unit (42) in which a supply flow path (421) linked to the upstream end of the one or more evaporation flow paths is formed, and which supplies, to the one or more evaporation flow paths, a liquid phase work fluid that has flowed into said supply flow path; and a fluid outflow unit (44) in which an outflow flow path (441) linked to the downstream end of the one or more evaporation flow paths is formed and which allows outflow of the work fluid that has flowed into the outflow flow path from the one or more evaporation flow paths. The fluid outflow unit is arranged above the liquid supply unit, and the liquid supply unit is arranged in a position less susceptible than the fluid evaporation unit to receiving battery heat.
