Abstract:
Provided is an examination assistance device to be connected to an endoscope system for use, the endoscope system including a camera unit that is inserted to the inside of the body of a subject. The examination assistance device comprises: an acquisition unit that sequentially acquires images captured by the camera unit; a diagnosis unit that performs diagnosis on the inside of the body on the basis of the captured images; a display unit that displays a diagnosis result outputted by the diagnosis unit; a reception unit that receives, from a user, a selection of an on mode for displaying the diagnosis result on the display unit or an off mode for not displaying the diagnosis result on the display unit; and a control unit that, when the reception unit receives a selection of the on mode, displays the diagnosis result on the display unit in real time, and that, when the reception unit receives a selection of the off mode, stores the diagnosis result in a storage unit without displaying the diagnosis result on the display unit at least while the examination of the inside of the body using the camera unit continues.
