Abstract:
An exhaust gas heat exchanger for exchanging heat between exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine and a cooling fluid is equipped with: tubes that form exhaust gas flowpaths through which the exhaust gas flows; fins provided in the exhaust gas flowpaths; and protruded tabs provided protruding from the tubes or the fins so as to inhibit the flow of the exhaust gas. Each of the protruded tabs has a polygonal shape having four or more sides and at least a bottom side, one lateral side, and another lateral side. The angle between the one lateral side and the bottom side is set so as to be less than the angle between the other lateral side and the bottom side, and so as to be less than 90 degrees. Each of the protruded tabs is slanted towards the upstream of the flow direction of the exhaust gas. In each of the protruded tabs, the bottom side is arranged so as to intersect with a direction orthogonal to the flow direction of the exhaust gas, and the other lateral side is positioned further upstream than the one lateral side. The exhaust gas heat exchanger enables an improvement in heat exchanging effectiveness by generating a swirl flow that facilitates greater heat transmission.
