Abstract:
The present invention provides a novel exhaust gas purification catalyst having improved performance for purifying HC and CO in a rich atmosphere. The exhaust gas purification catalyst disclosed in the present invention comprises a substrate, a catalyst layer provided on the substrate, and a reformation reaction layer provided on the substrate. The catalyst layer contains a three-way catalyst. The reformation reaction layer contains a hydrogen-generating catalyst. The reformation reaction layer is disposed at a position farther downstream than the catalyst layer in the direction in which exhaust gas flows.
