Abstract:
One purpose of the invention is to provide an exhaust gas treatment method that can control cost increases due to increases in the volume of exhaust gas treatment volume for treatment of exhaust gas discharged in a manufacturing process for carbon fiber. Provided is an exhaust gas treatment method that includes a first combustion step of treating exhaust gas from a carbonization step that is discharged from a carbonization furnace in which fibrous material is carbonized in an inert gas atmosphere, and a second combustion step of treating exhaust gas from an oxidation step that is discharged from an oxidation furnace that oxidizes in an atmospheric air, wherein the exhaust gas treatment method comprises an air separation step of providing, with air as the raw material, nitrogen in order to make the carbonization furnace into an inert gas atmosphere and oxygen enriched air in order to burn the exhaust gas from the carbonization step in the first combustion step.
