Abstract:

An expandable polyurethane composition which comprises (A) a polyisocyanate, (B) an active hydrogen-containing compound containing (B1) a polyol and (B2) water, and (C) a crosslinking agent composition. The crosslinking agent composition (C) contains (C1) a crosslinking agent which consists of both (a) an alkanolamine represented by the general formula: HxR1 yN((R2O)nH)3-x-y and (b) an aminosilane represented by the general formula: (R3O)qR4 3-qSi-R5-(NHCH2CH2)pNR6R7, and (C2) a carboxylic acid. The content of the crosslinking agent composition (C) is 0.1 to 20 parts by mass per 100parts by mass of the active hydrogen-containing compound component (B), while the molar content of the crosslinking agent (C1) is higher than that of the carboxylic acid (C2). The expandable polyurethane composition exhibits retarded reaction without a reduction in the final reactivity, thus suppressing an increase in the viscosity of the expandable polyurethane composition immediately after being poured into a mold. Further, the expandable polyurethane composition can form a polyurethane foam which has enhanced hardness and which permits a reduction in the pressure to be applied to interconnect the cells.
