Abstract:
Manufacturing expanded metal tubes using only a mandrel has hitherto required time to determine manufacturing conditions, and has been costly. In the present invention, by means of an expanded tube machining simulation, the shape of a workpiece (10) is evaluated in a state in which the tip of the workpiece (10) has advanced at least 1.0 m after passing through the shoulder (3) of a tool (1), and with the shape falling within ± 1% of a target outer diameter, and within ± 7.5% of a target wall thickness, the stock tube shape and tool shape are determined by iteration until the inner surface gap between the workpiece and the tool is within 1.0 mm, and the results are established as the actual expanded tube manufacturing conditions.
