The present invention relates to an external motor-type bidirectional pump which is applied to an anti-heeling device for preventing inclining or shaking of a ship, and said external motor-type bidirectional pump comprises: a motor unit having a motor and a motor base; a gearbox unit having a driving gear which is coupled to a motor shaft, and a driven gear which is coupled to the driving gear, in order to deliver a driving force of the motor as an impeller rotary driving force; and a pump unit in which a gearbox is installed such that an impeller is rotated by receiving rotary power of the gearbox unit whereby a fluid is transferred to a left tank or a right tank of an anti-heeling system, wherein said gearbox unit has an extension part that is extended to increase an amount of lubricant in order to enhance lubricating operations or cooling effects of said driving gear and said driven gear positioned therein, thereby reducing abrasion of the driving gear and the driven gear mounted inside the gearbox and improving cooling performance of the heat which is generated during a driving operation.
