Abstract:
The invention relates to an extinguishing device, comprising a support tube (2) and a jacket tube (6), which can be axially moved on the support tube (2), wherein a flow-dividing assembly (27) comprising a flow-dividing cone (46) is provided on the support tube (2), the flow-dividing assembly (27) forms an opening (45) directed annularly outward, and a front edge (53, 56, 57) of the jacket tube (6) can be moved over the opening (45) so as to close or open the opening, so that a fluid flow entering the flow-dividing assembly (27) from the support tube (2) is divided into an annular flow and is directed outward to the opening (45). The invention also relates to a method for extinguishing by means of the extinguishing device.
