The present invention relates to a fall prevention apparatus for a window, configured of: a glass frame having two horizontal glass frame members arranged to be spaced apart from each other and in parallel with each other in a horizontal direction and vertical glass frame members for interconnecting the tops and bottoms of said two horizontal window frame members; a window frame having two vertical window members and horizontal window members for interconnecting the tops and bottoms of said two vertical window members, and which slides and moves along the horizontal glass frame members of the glass frame, wherein the apparatus consists essentially of: a guide member arranged in parallel with the horizontal glass frame members; a plurality of vertical chain wires each of which has one end connected to the guide member so as to be movable along the guide member, wherein the vertical chain wires are formed by sequentially connecting chains with each other; and a plurality of horizontal chain wires each of which has one end connected to one of the vertical window members and another end connected to the vertical glass frame member that is brought into contact with said one of the vertical window members by means of the sliding of said one of the vertical window members, wherein the horizontal chain wires are formed by sequentially connecting chains with each other, wherein each of the horizontal chain wires has an intermediate portion connected to the vertical chain wire.
