Title:
FAN FOR AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2018/133943
Kind Code:
A9
Abstract:
Fans for internal combustion engines are known, which comprise an electric motor (16) comprising a stator (18) with stator windings (22) and a rotor (24), which is attached to a drive shaft (10), a housing (44), which surrounds the electric motor (16), a transport channel (46, 40), which is formed in the housing (44), an intake manifold (64), which delimits an inlet channel (50), and an outlet connection (54), which delimits an outlet channel (52), and an impeller (12), which is attached to the drive shaft (10) and via which fluid can be conveyed from the inlet channel (50) via the transport channel (46, 40) to the outlet channel (52). The aim of the invention is to ensure the penetration of spray water into the electronics compartment during the simultaneous potential aeration and deaeration of said compartment. According to the invention, an electronics compartment (58) is formed in the housing (44), in which a plate (76) with electronic components (78) is arranged, by which means the electric motor (16) can be controlled, the housing (44) comprising an opening (74) via which the electronics compartment (58) is fluidically connected to the inlet channel (50).
