Abstract:
The present invention appropriately transmits far infrared and improves abrasion resistance. A far infrared transmitting member (20) comprises a far infrared transmitting substrate (30), and a first functional film (32) formed on the substrate (30). The average transmittance of light having a wavelength 8 µm to 12 µm is 50% or more. An outermost layer (36) of the first functional film (32) includes ZrO2 as a main component. The ZrO2 content is 50-100 mass% with respect to the entirety of the outermost layer (36). The refractive index for light having a wavelength of 550 nm is 2.05 or greater.
